The Lindenhurst School District is seeking elementary priority substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. A Priority Substitute will perform instruction in collaboration with the special education teacher and will assist the teacher to prepare, adapt, demonstrate, and use instructional materials. The Priority Substitute will also assist in further individualizing programs by working with individual and small groups of students in tandem with the teacher.The Priority Substitute will assist in collecting data related to IEP goals and participate in progress monitoring. The role will at times require the implementation of behavior intervention strategies that include, but are not limited to: following a Behavior Intervention plan and/or utilizing CPI training to de-escalate challenging behaviors (physical or verbal).The priority substitute will support testing accommodations and modifications for exams.Interested applicants should address job-specific cover letters to Mr. Bret Kearney, Deputy Superintendent.
