Director of Mental Health Services and Student AttendanceThe successful candidate will assist the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel & Community Services substantially and effectively by providing development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the K-12 Mental Health program and student attendance. Work with principals and directors to ensure coordination of mental health programs among all school buildingsSupervise and evaluate K-4 school counselors, social workers, and nurses. Supervise and evaluate related staff. Plan, schedule, and implement in-service training programs for mental health and related staff. Establish and implement program format for New Teacher Orientation. Develop budget and staffing recommendations for areas of responsibility. Monitor student attendance. Develop and coordinate intervention programs for students with excessive absences. District Liaison for students in transitional housing. District 504 chairperson. District DASAImplement Restorative Practice K-12Implement PBIS K-12Develop and maintain K-12 comprehensive School Counseling Program in accordance with Part 100.2 (j) commissioner’s regulations.Qualifications: NYS-SDA/SDL required. Additional NYS Certification as a provider of mental health services (i.e. school counselor, school psychologist, or school social worker). 5 years of successful experience as a provider of mental health services in a school settingConsiderable knowledge of policies and practices of public school administration. Thorough understanding of mental health services provided in a school setting and related areas as set forth by New York State Education Law. Candidate must possess excellent communication skills.
