Possession of a license, and current registration issued by the NYS Department of Education, to practice as an Occupational Therapist.An occupational therapist is assigned to students who are identified for occupational therapy services. Analyzes data from occupational therapy and other educational evaluation results. Develops short and long term goals, working with other staff within the school to coordinate development of programs. Documents the outcomes to be achieved, selecting the methods and environment to accomplish goals. Prepares and sets-up treatment environment and individual plans each day for children scheduled. Evaluates children in classroom for possible services and/or recommendations. Coordinates occupational therapy programs with the total educational curriculum. Assists with the supervision of students.. Provides classroom consultation to teachers and staff regarding the identified special needs of students. Assumes other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
