REQUIREMENTS : NYS Certification Technology Education (All Grades) NYS Certification Career and Technical Education – Media Communications preferred (All Grades) RESPONSIBILITIES : The teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum. Develop lesson plans and assignments to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students. Teach and prepare students for a career in arts, audio/video technology, and communications using industry-standard tools and software. This includes and is not limited to: Production (video, audio), journalism & content creation, media industry standards & ethics, career & financial readiness aligned with Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) standards. Stay up-to-date on CDOS standards and evolving technologies Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment. Assess, evaluate and track student progress through in-class/at-home assignments, projects and exams. Effective and ongoing communication with parents, colleagues and administration. Attending meetings and maintaining professional development standards. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching CTE in secondary school preferred (with a CTE certification) Bachelor's degree in Media Technology or related field. Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students. Understanding of modern teaching techniques and use of classroom technologies. START: September 1, 2026 SALARY: According to the LVSEA Teachers Contract
