REQUIREMENTS: NYS Certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages (All Grades) RESPONSIBILITIES: The ENL Teacher is responsible for the well-being and safety of the students, taking attendance, maintaining a functioning classroom, utilizing classroom management skills, leaving a clean classroom, and teaching the provided curriculum. Develop and present curriculum ENL lesson plans (course materials and related activities) and assignments to students. Assess, evaluate and track student performance and ongoing progress. Build and manage trusting relationships with the students, parents, and school staff. Keep parents informed of student progress. Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of the students. Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the lesson plans. Collaborate with teachers on building, evolving ENL lesson plans for a more consistent student learning experience. Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment. QUALIFICATIONS: Previous school experience as an ENL teacher. Proven leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to engage, motivate and challenge students. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and partner with students & parents in the learning process. Experience with the various co-teach models, collaborative lesson planning, and team-teaching. START: September 1, 2026 SALARY: According to the LVSEA Teachers Contract
