Lansingburgh Central School District is accepting applications for an Athletic Director, with service to commence as soon as practicable. This is a full-time, 11-month, tenure track position that is represented by the Lansingburgh Administrators Association. This position has a minimum starting salary of $90,000, with excellent fringe benefits. Appropriate NYS Certification as a SDL/SDA is required at the time of appointment.Job DescriptionReporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, the Athletic Director oversees and is responsible for all matters relating to the implementation and support of the health education, physical education and athletics programs District-wide. Responsibilities include but shall not be limited to the following:Recruiting and recommending appropriate staff for coaching and other related positionsEnsuring proper credentialing of all athletic coachesSupervising and evaluating coaches, physical education teachers, health education teachers, and other non-instructional staffOverseeing the physical education and athletics programs as well as their budgetsFacilitating and supporting District-wide health and wellness programsOverseeing the development and implementation of curricula in related areasCollaborating with community organizationsDeveloping and submitting accurate reports at the District and State levelCollecting and analyzing data to evaluate program implementation to drive improvementResearching instructional best practices; and developing and/or delivering appropriate professional development opportunities for staff and administrators.Required QualificationsNew York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) CertificationNew York State certification in health and/or physical educationPreferred QualificationsMinimum 5 years of teaching experience in either health or physical educationPrior experience as a school administrator at either the building or district level
