Position: Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services Type of Position: Probationary Appointment Effective: July 1, 2026 (Anticipated) Location: Districtwide Description: The Board of Education for the Lakeland Central School District announces a vacancy for the position of Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services (PPS). The candidate will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the district’s student support services, including special education, school counseling, health services, and related programs. Reporting to the Superintendent, this position ensures that services are aligned with district goals, comply with state and federal regulations, and support the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. The Assistant Superintendent collaborates with district and building leaders, supervises program directors and support staff, related services, out-of-district placements, and Section 504 compliance, and works with families and community partners to promote equitable outcomes and student success. Other Duties: Performs additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold valid NYS SDA or SDL certification and one or more of the following: Special Education, Students with Disabilities, School Psychologist, School Social Worker, Speech & Language Disabilities Master’s Degree required.
