TITLE: Teacher Aide – TemporaryLOCATION: Van Cortlandtville Elementary SchoolDATES: September 3, 2024 through December 20, 2024DESCRIPTION: Lakeland Central School District is seeking a temporary teacher aide in our district to assist certified school teachers in their duties in the classroom. This title is employed for positions created for the main purpose of relieving school teachers of that part of their duties, which while related to the teaching process, can be performed by non-professional personnel. These employees aid in direct support of a teacher and may provide one to one assistance to a student with disabilities such as taking notes, helping with mobility issues, us of technology, assisting with personal care, etc. Also, they may provide assistance to students in equipment adaptation to facilitate learning, mobility and/or communication. Location and duties of position may change based on district and students needs. Acceptable Training and Experience: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma or an equivalent amount of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to perform the work. SALARY: $24,851 - $40,745 (pro-rated) Employees new to the district will start at the lower salary.
