Lakeland Central School District is seeking an Athletic Trainer. This employee is responsible for the care, prevention and treatment of athletic injuries involving student athletes who participate in various school sports programs. This employee must have thorough knowledge of Advanced First Aid, CPR and emergency management procedures and good knowledge of the operation and maintenance of the equipment utilized in an athletic training setting. Some duties include, providing first aid, CPR, coordinating emergency transportation, evaluating an injury and following up and making decisions regarding the management of the injury. This employee establishes and implements a program for the purpose of minimizing injuries which includes condition programs, equipment selection, and athletic activity safety checks. In addition, a very important responsibility this employee has is to provide student athletes, parents, coaches and school staff with information regarding sound health habits and injury care. Must have certification as an Athletic Trainer in accordance with Article 162 of the New York State Education Law and current certification in American Heart Association or American Red Cross Standard First Aid and/or Community CPR or EMT certificate at the time of appointment. Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. M-F. This is an 11 month position. Salary: $50,000 - $60,000.
