Spanish Teacher John Jay High School KLSD is looking for a thoughtful and knowledgeable educator to serve in the probationary position of Spanish Teacher at John Jay High School and John Jay Middle School beginning September 1, 2026. Qualifications: Possess a current NYS Spanish 7-12 Certification. Exhibits knowledge of NY State Standards. Responsibilities: Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging. Collaborates and communicates with colleagues, parents, and administration to best meet the needs of students. Utilizes current educational research to inform instructional practices. Implements culturally relevant practices into instruction ensuring that lessons reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of all students. Actively participates in a professional learning community (PLC), engaging in ongoing, collaborative professional learning to refine and enhance instructional practice. Works with colleagues to analyze student needs, share best practices, and implement research-based strategies that improve student outcomes.
