Location: District Office Hours: 12 months; Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week Salary: Board Action – Managerial/Confidential: $85,000-$125,000 Benefits: As determined by the Board of Education per individual contract Duties and Responsibilities: Process and maintain accurate payroll records for all district employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Prepare and submit all required payroll tax reports (e.g., W-2, 941, NYS-45), in accordance with IRS and New York State guidelines.Oversees Payroll staff, delegating tasks and ensuring compliance with district policies and state regulations. This includes ensuring accurate data entry into the payroll system and troubleshooting discrepancies.Review and verify employee time records, including vacation, sick leave, overtime and other adjustments before processing payroll.Process all payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay, step increases, benefits deductions, salary changes, terminations, leaves of absences, etc.Coordinate with the New York State and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS) and the Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS), ensuring accurate and timely reporting of service and earnings.Reconcile monthly health insurance invoices and other payroll deductions (e.g., retirement contributions, union dues, garnishments), resolving discrepancies.Process and manage Medicare Part B and IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) reimbursements for eligible retirees, adhering to district policies.Collaborating with department heads and HR to resolve payroll related issues and respond to staff regarding payroll issues via phone, email and/or written correspondence.Generate reports for internal and external purposes, including those for labor agreements, tax compliance, and financial audits.Supports the annual school district budget, year-end closing, and audit activities.Maintain comprehensive and confidential payroll records, including direct deposit enrollments, W-4 forms, and tax withholdings. Ensure documentation meets audit standards and aligns with state and federal requirements.Reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Business. Qualifications:Candidate must qualify through the Westchester County Civil Service Commission and/or pass the appropriate Civil Service examination. Consideration for transfer will be given to candidates holding the title of Senior Payroll Clerk in permanent status in Westchester County, NY.Anticipated Start date: ASAP
