Responsibilities: Provides explanations of benefit programs and informs retirees, current enrollees, and relatives of their enrollment options.Utilizes program eligibility guidelines to maintain proper enrollment and acts as a liaison between the municipality or school district and insurance carriers.Computes billing, maintains a payment ledger, and reviews billing statements against employee enrollment records to ensure accuracy. Processes vision reimbursement claims.Establishes enrollment and termination dates for new employees, maintains benefit enrollment files, and advises enrollees of COBRA benefits and costs.Researches and prepares comparative reports on new benefit plans, calculates reimbursement of Medicare payments, and keeps a list of employees eligible for benefit reimbursement.Prepares statistical reports on health care costs and enrollment and may distribute monthly.Uses computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail, and database software to perform work assignments.
