Location: John Jay High School / Operations and Maintenance; Full Time – 12 monthsAnticipated Start Date: April 17, 2024 Salary and Benefits: $70,442 as per the KLSSA contract; prorated from start date.General Statement of Duties:The primary role of the senior custodial worker is to provide leadership and training to a team of custodial workers and assist the head custodian with all daily obligations. Examples of Work:Reviews the school building facility use calendar daily and coordinates the set-up of scheduled events.Assigns the cleaning tasks to the custodial crew, and provides all training needed to ensure the work is performed properly.Communicates with the head custodian, building principals, maintenance foreperson, and director of facilities of any issues that could be a disruption to school.Utilizes digital documentation methods and correspondence with computer applications, such as email, spreadsheets, or work order requests application software (SchoolDude).Assists in the cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed.Performing and documenting inspections of the building equipment.Performs building checks and training of proper building checks to all the custodians.Provides detailed requests for supplies, tools, and custodial equipment to the head custodian.Makes minor building maintenance repairs, furniture repairs, painting, and monitors the building management system. Appointment to position will be Contingent-Permanent. The previous incumbent must achieve permanent status within 52 weeks before the appointee can be considered for permanent status. Candidates must qualify through the Westchester County Civil Service Commission and/or pass the appropriate Civil Service examination. Consideration for transfer will be given to candidates holding the title of Senior Custodial Worker in permanent status in Westchester County, NY.
