Qualifications:Minimum of five years of special education experience.Experience with chairing CSE meetings.Valid NYS Special Education or Psychology certification preferred.Strong knowledge of IDEA, NYS regulations, and expertise in supporting students with disabilities.Salary: In accordance with KLDTA contractResponsibilities:Work with Director and Assistant Director on coordination of annual review meetings K-12The CSE Chairperson will assist and support the day-to-day management of CSE functions district wide.Uphold legal requirements and IDEA regulations and NYSED Part 200 & 201.Determine appropriate programming decisions for students in the least restrictive environment.Facilitate Committee on Special Education meetings.Engage special education and related service staff to ensure high quality programs andservices are being provided pursuant to each student’s IEP.Assist families and providers through ongoing communication and support.Assist Director and Assistant Director in the planning and implementation of staff development in-service training around CSE responsibilitiesMonitor and assist providers with IEP writing, development and implementation.Collaborate with Student Support Services administrators, principals, and assistant principals.Demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership qualities to work effectively with all stakeholders.Perform other tasks as assigned.
