Katonah-Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Vacancy for the 2023-2024 School Year DISTRICT-WIDE STAFF DEVELOPER STEAM and Sustainability The Katonah-Lewisboro School District is seeking a talented educator to serve as district-wide staff developer for the 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with other staff, faculty and outside consultants on the development, delivery, and assessment of professional development and curricular resources. Coordinating with administrators and district committees in order to meet the needs of staff and students. Sharing current research about best practices in pedagogy and assessment. Working with colleagues to design student-centered units and lessons. Working in classrooms to demonstrate lessons. Analyzing student work with teachers. Characteristics of successful candidates will include the ability to: champion a culture of reflective practice and innovation. lead, empower, inspire, and collaborate with other adults. work independently and with multiple teams. be flexible and respond to evolving needs. Successful candidates will have: deep content knowledge and experience teaching sustainability, science or other STEAM courses. a strong understanding of Problem-based Learning, Universal Design for Learning principles, and authentic assessment practices. a strong work ethic. be self-motivated and be a self-directed learner. a perspective that spans K-12 and multi-disciplines. excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills. a history of successful classroom teaching, expertise in instructional practice, and interest in innovation. interest and/or experience in curriculum development and professional learning. flexibility and availability for summer and after-school work. The Staff Developer will report directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. All tenure areas considered.
