Responsibilities include: Collaborating with other teachers, ENL faculty and administrators to support English Language Learners (ELLs) in all areas Coordinating with administrators and ENL colleagues to administer, score and analyze the NYSITELL and NYSESLAT Providing stand-alone and integrated instruction to ELLs, as per NYSED guidelines Providing modifications and accommodations to curriculum, resources and assessments Communicating and collaborating with ELLs and their families Working with colleagues to provide a culturally responsive curriculum and school climate Attending to the social emotional wellness of ENL students Providing translation supports for ELLs and their families Working with clinical staff and outside agencies to ensure access to community resources as needed Participating in district-wide committees Successful candidates will be able to: Advocate for ELLs and their families Lead professional learning experiences for colleagues Work both independently and collaboratively with multiple people on different teams Be flexible and responsive to evolving needs Use technology to support students and enhance their learning experience NYS TESOL Certification Required, Dual certification preferred in: Secondary content area (7-12 English, Math, Science, Social Studies, or World Language - Spanish, French or Latin) Special Education Literacy Districtwide, tenure track position (May work in more than one school, based on caseload) Multi-lingual candidates preferred; fluent speakers of Spanish are encouraged to apply.
