Job SummaryJCC Mid-Westchester is seeking an experienced Swim Team Coach, which includes overseeing training sessions for the swim team and pre-team. This role encompasses coaching responsibilities, swim meet management, administrative tasks, and other duties delegated by the Head Swim Coach and/or Director of Aquatics. The Swim team coach will play a pivotal role in advancing and nurturing both the competitive and noncompetitive swim programs.Key Responsibilities and Expectations:Assist in coaching Stingrays swim team and our pre-swim team program under the supervision of the Head Coach and Director of AquaticsPresent on deck at practices and works with specific age groups to develop swimmers competitive skillsPractices run Mondays-Fridays with additional weekend meets throughout the seasonAttends all swim meets and ChampionshipsAssists in overseeing individual and team entries for swim meetsMust be available to coach additional swim team programs such as clinics, camps, training trips, etc.Helps build team spiritMonitor and enhance performance while motivating swimmersPart-Time, 15-20 hours/weekSkills, Education and ExperienceAt least one year prior coaching experience preferredUSA Swimming experience preferredExperience coaching ages 5-18 years oldPassionate about swimmingPositive and flexible with the ability to create a winning team environmentPossess exceptional leadership qualitiesCustomer service oriented and results drivenStrong communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsAmerican Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED required, Lifeguard preferredSafety training for Swim Coaches requiredExperience with Team Manager and Meet Manager preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights.
