The successful candidate will demonstrate strong musicianship, a passion for working with students, and the ability to build meaningful relationships that support musical and personal growth. This educator will contribute to a collaborative music department and help sustain a vibrant instrumental program across grade levels. Responsibilities Provide high-quality instrumental music instruction with emphasis on band performance and musicianship. Direct instrumental ensembles and prepare students for concerts, festivals, and adjudications. Select developmentally appropriate and engaging repertoire that supports student growth and a diverse range of musical styles. Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment. Collaborate with music faculty and district staff to support a cohesive K–12 music program. Encourage student participation in honor ensembles, festivals, and other musical opportunities. Maintain and organize music library, instruments, and equipment as needed. Participate in concerts, school events, and department initiatives. Qualifications NYS Certification in Music Education (K–12). Strong instrumental background and experience with band pedagogy. Knowledge of repertoire appropriate for school ensembles. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as part of a team. Involvement with professional music education organizations (e.g., NYSSMA, NMEA) preferred.
