JOHNSON CITY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT SECONDARY SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER DATE: March 16, 2026 EFFECTIVE DATE OF ASSIGNMENT: September 1, 2026 LOCATION: TBD STARTING SALARY: Current Salary (Higher rates available with prior experience) Bachelors: $59,136 Masters: $63,352 REQUIRED CERTIFICATION: Candidates must have a valid NYS Certification in Social Studies. Candidates who have just completed degrees and are finalizing certification are welcome to apply. The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate the Ability to: • Create and maintain a learning environment for students that nurtures academic and social-emotional growth. • Make contributions to the culture of the school district both in and outside of the classroom setting. • Work effectively with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum, design engaging and relevant daily lessons, analyze and respond to data from common assessments, and to create interventions and enrichments for the purpose of meeting the needs of all students. • Commit to being a lifelong learner, always seeking improvement of teaching practices.
