The Island Park UFSD is accepting applications for the 2026/2027 school year for a School Business Administrator/Manager beginning July 1, 2026. The School Business Administrator/Manager serves as a key advisor to the Superintendent on all financial, business, and operational matters and as an integral member of both the Administrative Team and the Instructional Leadership Team. Responsibilities include oversight of budget development and administration, purchasing and accounting, cash and investment management, the District’s insurance and employee benefits programs, and all required financial and regulatory reporting. In addition, to leading and managing all business operations of the District the School Business Administrator/Manger supervises maintenance/buildings and grounds, transportation, and the food service departments. Job Functions: Supervises maintenance of financial accounts and various records related to the business management of the school district Assists in development of fiscal policy Oversees the requisitioning and purchasing of all equipment and supplies while serving as purchasing agent Prepares and issues periodic local, state and federal financial and statistical reports for the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education Supervises the work of business office staff, head custodian, transportation supervisor, and food service manager Plans and directs construction or renovation projects with the Superintendent of Schools Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of the school budget for submission by the Superintendent to the Board of Education Substantiates budget estimates with supporting data, and assists with promoting annual budget to the public Manages district insurance programs Develops maintains and applies office management practices of the business office staff Oversees the annual audit of the school district All other duties as assigned Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree and a New York State School Business Administrator (SBA), School District Business Leader (SDBL), School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL) at the time of appointment. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in school business operations, including at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
