Gifted and Talented Teacher-Probationary PositionBeginning August 30, 2023 The Island Park UFSD is seeking an energetic and self-directed gifted and talented (G&T) teacher who will be responsible for working with students who have been identified as gifted or talented in grades 3-6. NYS Permanent, Professional Certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) Required NYS Permanent, Professional Certification in Special Education (Grades 1-6) Required NYS Gifted Education Extension RequiredMust have 3 or more years teaching experience.Knowledge of NYS Standards; NYSSLS, Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards, CTE Standards and STEM conceptsExperience in researching topics involving Gifted and Talented programs and exploring resources appropriate for elementary curriculum. Create and implement differentiated instruction to meet the unique learning needs of gifted and talented elementary students.Develop an educational environment that engages students to learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible individuals.Facilitate an engaging learning environment to maximize the advanced academic skills and potential of gifted and talented elementary students.Creates project-based learning activities and unit plans to provide challenging and stimulating learning opportunities for gifted and talented elementary students.
