Irvington High School is seeking a thoughtful, student-centered Special Education teacher to join our high school team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, and colleagues to support diverse learners in reaching their full potential within an inclusive, academically rigorous environment. We are especially interested in candidates with dual certification in Mathematics, though this is preferred and not required. Our Special Education teachers play a critical role in bringing this vision to life by ensuring all students are known, supported, and challenged. Responsibilities include: Provide direct instruction and support to students with IEPs across a range of settings, including co-taught and small group environments Collaborate with general education teachers to design and implement inclusive, student-centered instruction Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations Use data to inform instruction and support student growth Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with related service providers Contribute to a positive, supportive school culture that prioritizes belonging and high expectations for all students Qualifications: New York State certification in Special Education (required) Dual certification in Mathematics (preferred but not required) Experience with co-teaching and inclusive practices Strong commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based instruction Ability to build meaningful relationships with students and colleagues Excellent communication and organizational skills
