ANTICIPATED OPENINGS: SCHOOL YEAR 2026– 2027: Elementary Math and/or Reading AIS Full Time Leave Replacement Islip School District *NYS Childhood Education K-6 Certification is required *Bilingual preferred The Islip Public Schools is looking for a dynamic, innovative, and student-centered educator to serve in the position of Elementary AIS Teacher ? Develops and facilitates elementary learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, collaborative and align with the school district vision and goals. ? Familiar with instructional technology software and applications and looks for new and innovative ways to incorporate instructional technology into the classroom. ? Promotes a positive classroom culture sensitive to elementary aged students, their developmental characteristics, and individual student needs. ? Understand the importance of social and emotional needs of elementary students. ? Modifies and differentiates instruction based on student learning styles. ? Deep comprehension of phonemic awareness, phonics, word study, reading fluency, vocabulary, child development of number sense, numeric fluency, and problem solving. ? Understanding of a Response to Intervention MTSS framework. ? Ability to collaborate with colleagues and present student data. ? Plan instruction that aligns with grade-level math expectations and supports conceptual progression. ? Differentiate learning to meet students where they are while maintaining high expectations for all. ? Use formative assessment to guide instruction and provide targeted support and enrichment. ? Knowledge of ReadyMath, enVisions, and/or other research-based math programs. ?
