ANTICIPATED OPENING: SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025Teaching Assistant (1)The Islip School District seeks student-centered educators who are dedicated to professional growth and committed to the success of all students. CERTIFICATIONS:Must possess NYS Teacher Certification or Teaching Assistant CertificationResponsibilities:Assist teachers in the development and direct instruction of appropriate technology learning experiences related to coding and content/software integration. Collaborate with teachers to utilize, integrate, and troubleshoot technology issues.Troubleshoot staff and student device issues (Chromebooks/PCs).Must have working knowledge of multiple school learning platforms and applications; must assist teachers with instructional software including, but not limited to:Microsoft 365Google WorkspaceCleverNearpodKamiBook CreatorMonitor and complete entry level tickets in Service Desk PlusMaintain building device inventory.Create and file insurance claims for student devices.Assist in related instructional work as required, and provide academic support for students.Provide support and feedback to students on classroom assignments.Help ensure that students’ testing accommodations are met.Assist building administration, district administration, and others with any presentation setup needs.Must be well organized with strong verbal communication skills to communicate with stakeholders.Please provide 3 supervisory references with application.Donna Brower, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
