ANTICIPATED OPENING: SCHOOL YEAR 2024 - 2025Full Time School CounselorIslip Middle School*NYS School Counselor Certification is requiredThe Islip School District is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and student-centered counselor to join the counseling department at Islip Schools. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Responsible for the social, emotional, and academic counseling and advisement of lslip students in grades 6 - 8.Works closely with administration on daily interactions as a first level of support for students requiring interventions and/or mediations. An active team member on current initiatives, while being proactive and creative in implementing new student-driven initiatives.Knowledge of student information systems and scheduling.Works closely with student support services to provide emotional and academic resources and support to students in need.Provides counseling services to students in a variety of settings including small group, classroom and grade level.Assists students/parents in understanding school policies and procedures and offer parent workshops/information sessions.Supports and attends student activities and events.Please submit letter of interest and resume via OLAS to:Donna Brower, Assistant Superintendent for Human ResourcesApplications will be accepted through OLAS only.
