SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024Part-time Geography Teacher (.6)Islip public schools is looking for a part time middle school social studies teacher for our interactive project- based geography course. Students will utilize the Google suite of applications to learn about geography and create computerized projects. The successful applicant will work closely with the Social Studies Coordinator in creating a curriculum to meet the needs of our middle school students. NYS Social Studies 7-12 certification requiredThe successful candidate will have a strong background in the Google Suite of Applications such as, but not limited to: Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides, CalendarResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Plan for and facilitate fun, interactive, digitally based activities that provide an exciting environment where children are eager to participate in lessons that connect Social Studies and Digital Fluency.Develop research-based projects that require students to incorporate research skills necessary to compose said projects.Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, creativity, and a love for learning.Demonstrate and promote a growth mindset.
