ISLIP PUBLIC SCHOOLSAnticipated Opening: 2022-2023 School YearStudent Services Advisor Islip Middle SchoolThe Islip School District seeks a student-centered educator who is dedicated to professional growth and committed to the success of all students. The successful candidate will currently hold the required certification (see below) and have some experience working as a middle school teacher. This position is similar to that of a Dean of Students, with additional responsibilities. Certification: New York State Department of Education Certification: SBL/SDLResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Communicate with parents/teachers/administration about student behaviors.Mediate student conflicts to enhance a positive building culture.Collaborate with support staff regarding student needs.Oversee the management, record keeping and reporting of daily student attendance, and discipline related to attendance.Meet with students regarding decision making/behavior.Responsible for managing student discipline and student code of conduct violations.Incorporate methods of Restorative Justice into student management decisions.Support the building administrative team with NYS reporting related to attendance and student discipline, student supervision and student discipline.Participate in "Buccaneer Round Table to develop positive interactions / events with student body.Please submit letter of interest and resume via OLAS to: Donna Brower, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Administrative ServicesApplications will be accepted through OLAS only.
