The successful candidate will currently hold the required certification (see below) and have some experience working as a middle school teacher. This position is similar to that of a Dean of Students, with additional responsibilities. Certification: New York State Department of Education Certification: SBL/SDLResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Communicate with parents/teachers/administration about student behaviorsMediate student conflicts to enhance a positive building cultureCollaborate with support staff regarding student needsOversee the management, record keeping and reporting of daily student attendance, and discipline related to attendance.Meet with students regarding decision making/behavior.Responsible for managing student discipline and student code of conduct violationsIncorporate methods of Restorative Justice into student management decisionsSupport the building administrative team with NYS reporting related to attendance and student discipline, student supervision and student discipline.Participate in "Buccaneer Round Table to develop positive interactions / events with student bodyPlease submit letter of interest and resume via OLAS to: Karen Whalen, Principal Clerk, Office of Human Resources
