Job Title: Principal - High SchoolJob Category: AdministratorJob Location: High SchoolSalary : $115,000 with potential for increased starting salary commensurate with experiencedApplication Due Date: 10/24/22Anticipated Position Start Date: 11/7/22The High School Principal is directly responsible for the following duties:Administration and supervision of programs, services and facilities of the High School.Management, planning, coordination, implementation and improvement of the secondary education programs and assessments at a building level in collaboration with the district-wide administrative team.Assisting in the recruitment and selection of personnel.Evaluation of faculty and staff members.Orientation and support for all new building personnel as well as new students and parents.Provide leadership in the establishment of a positive building climate for the staff members, students, parents and community.Providing leadership in the communication and interpretation of school policies and programs to parents and community.Maintaining records and preparing reports for the Superintendent, Board of Education and State Education Department.Assisting in the development and implementation of in-service training opportunities for the High School staff.Facilitating building and facility usage and general supervision including oversight of High School athletic, fine arts, and extracurricular programming.Enforcing all provisions of education law and policies of the Board of Education related to the management of the school including, but not limited to DASA, emergency procedures, and building/district Codes of Conduct.Attending professional meetings and conferences that pertain to the position.Maintain a fiscal accounting system for the building and extracurricular funds consistent with district procedures.Performing any additional duties assigned.Qualifications:Successful candidates must currently hold NYS certification in SDL, SAS or SBL.Candidates must have:A clear educational philosophy including a foundation in teaching and learning as well as appropriate classroom/student management strategiesThorough understanding of school operationsSecondary classroom, teacher-leader, and/or administration experienceAbility to coordinate building/campus/district activitiesWorking knowledge of curriculum, instruction, NYSED graduation requirements, and SEL supportsAbility to analyze accountability measures, evaluate instructional programs, and teaching effectivenessExperience in delivering Professional Development to groups of educators and support staffAbility to implement policy and proceduresAbility to interpret data and implement data-informed changeStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
