The Hyde Park Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and highly organized Athletic Director to lead and oversee the district's interscholastic athletics program. The Athletic Director will provide leadership for all athletic programs, ensuring that opportunities are safe, inclusive, educationally sound, and aligned with district goals and academic mission. The successful candidate will promote sportsmanship, character development, equity, student wellness, and academic achievement while maintaining compliance with New York State requirements and applicable interscholastic athletic regulations. Key Responsibilities: Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the district's interscholastic athletics program Supervise and evaluate coaches and athletic program personnel in accordance with district policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements Develop, manage, and monitor the annual athletics budget, including purchasing, facilities, transportation, equipment, and uniforms Coordinate athletic schedules, contests, practices, facilities, transportation, officials, and event personnel Ensure compliance with New York State Education Department requirements, athletic regulations, district policies, and applicable NYSPHSAA rules and procedures Oversee student-athlete eligibility, participation requirements, physical examinations, health and safety protocols, and required documentation Promote equitable access and participation across athletic programs and ensure appropriate support for students with diverse needs Oversee athletic facilities, fields, gyms, equipment, and maintenance needs in collaboration with appropriate district personnel Manage relationships with league and section representatives, other school districts, officials' organizations, vendors, and community partners Promote positive sportsmanship, appropriate spectator behavior, student conduct, and a culture of respect Qualifications: New York State Certification in Physical Education (and) School District Leader (SDL) Certificate (or) School Administrator/ Supervisor (SAS) Certificate Hyde Park Central School District’s new Presidential Perks is a special program designed to help our essential staff save money.
