Franklin D. Roosevelt High School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and student-centered High School Math Teacher to join our Mathematics Department. This is an anticipated vacancy for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction that aligns with New York State Next Generation Mathematics Learning Standards, fostering a classroom culture of critical thinking, and supporting the diverse academic needs of our student body. Tentative Assignment: FDR High School (subject to change) Responsibilities: Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in various mathematics courses (e.g., Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, or Pre-Calculus). Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners. Participate in the alignment and refinement of mathematics curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of 21st-century learners. Maintain a positive, respectful, and organized learning environment that supports both the social-emotional and academic development of students. Maintain active and professional communication with families, colleagues, and administration regarding student achievement and well-being. Qualifications Required: Valid New York State Certification in Mathematics (Grades 7-12). Proven ability to differentiate instruction for a wide range of student abilities. Strong interpersonal skills Preferred: Experience with Google Classroom and instructional technology (e.g., graphing calculators.). Familiarity with restorative practices and culturally responsive pedagogy.
