Location: FDR High School & Violet Avenue Elementary, Hyde Park Central School DistrictThe Hyde Park Central School District seeks a Registered Nurse to serve students for the 2025-2026 school year. The School Registered Nurse (RN) provides health services to students, promoting health education and ensuring a safe and healthy environment in accordance with New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations and district policies. Key Responsibilities:Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, emergency care, and management of chronic conditions.Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with NYSED and HIPAA guidelines.Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders and parental consent.Conduct mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and follow up as required.Monitor and manage communicable diseases and report to the Department of Health as necessary.Serve as a liaison between home, school, and community health resources.Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with special medical needs.Participate in the Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings as needed.Maintain an organized and hygienic health office and ensure appropriate inventory of supplies.Promote health education activities for students and staff.Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators on student wellness and attendance.Qualifications:Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License.Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred).Certification: Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (must be maintained throughout employment).Experience: Prior experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing preferred.Strong assessment, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
