Hewlett High School is searching for a Varsity Girls Lacrosse Assistant Coach for the Spring 2027 interscholastic athletic season. Successful candidates should have: NYS Teacher or coaching certification required Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED/Concussion management required Ensure that all aspects of the program comply with the guidelines, rules and policies that have been established by the School District, League, Section, State and National Federation. Develop and communicate criteria for selection to appropriate teams. Train and instruct student athletes on the rules, techniques, and technical aspects of the assigned sport; plan daily practices in preparation of games and/practices; provide constructive feedback Work effectively with Varsity, JV , MS Coaches, and community organizations to develop and strengthen programs Maintain discipline and work to increase morale Knowledge of assessment techniques and monitoring strategies to identify student/athlete’s efforts, performance, strengths, and weakness Motivational techniques and strategies to improve individual and team performance Ability to provide training and coaching to improve individual players and team performance Ability to effectively organize, and supervise practices, scrimmages, and games Previous college participation and/or gymnastics coaching experience preferred Email: dviegas@hewlett-woodmere.net with any questions
