The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated English Language Arts teacher for a full-time, probationary position beginning on August 26, 2026. This role requires NYS certification in English/English Language Arts (7-12). The successful candidate will serve students at Woodmere Middle School. This is a unique opportunity for an educator committed to inclusive education, academic excellence, and supporting students with diverse learning needs. Key Responsibilities: At Woodmere Middle School (1.0 FTE): Provide instruction in an English Language Arts classroom. Collaborate with special education teachers to plan and deliver differentiated instruction. Implement IEP goals aligned with NYS learning standards. Support students in accessing the curriculum through accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies. Monitor and document student progress; participate in CSE meetings as needed. Qualifications: Required Certifications: New York State Certification in English/English Language Arts (7-12) Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in English/English Language Arts Knowledge of NYS/Next Gen Standards Strong collaboration and communication skills Work Schedule & Compensation: This is a 1.0 FTE probationary position. Position is 1.0 at Woodmere Middle School Compensation in accordance with Hewlett Woodmere Faculty Association contract.
