The district seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as the District Privacy Officer, Chief Information Officer, and Director of Instructional Technology & Library Media Specialists. This position is responsible for overseeing the district’s compliance with data privacy laws, managing technology infrastructure, leading instructional technology initiatives, and providing leadership and support to the Library Media Specialists. The Director reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and works collaboratively with all district stakeholders. Responsibilities: District Privacy OfficerServe as the district’s designated Data Protection Officer under NYS Education Law 2-d and related regulations.Ensure compliance with state and federal student data privacy laws, including FERPA, COPPA, and NYSED Part 121.Develop, implement, and maintain district-wide data security and privacy policies and procedures.Coordinate with legal counsel, vendors, and district staff regarding data protection agreements (DPAs).Respond to data privacy incidents, conduct investigations, and prepare required notifications and reports.Oversee technology infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and systems administration in partnership with the Technology Department.Supervise district technology staff and coordinate with BOCES and external providers on network services and hardware/software procurement.Develop and manage technology budgets, grant opportunities, and resource allocations. Instructional TechnologyLead the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction to enhance teaching and learning.Design and deliver professional development in instructional technology for teachers, administrators, and support staff.Oversee and evaluate technology mentors, if applicable.Support schools in identifying technology needs and aligning resources to instructional goals.Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies for classroom use.Coordinate districtwide educational software acquisition, licensing, and support. Library Media SpecialistsProvide leadership and supervision for the district’s Library Media Specialists.Support the development and implementation of K–12 library media curriculum aligned with NYS standards.Promote information literacy, digital citizenship, and equitable access to print and digital resources.Ensure library collections are diverse, current, and reflective of district priorities.Facilitate collaboration between Library Media Specialists, teachers, and administrators to support instructional programs.Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or their designee. Requisites:Experience in instructional technology leadership, information management, or library media supervision preferred.Knowledge of NYSED data privacy regulations, FERPA, and related compliance requirements.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Valid NYS Certification as a School District Administrator or School District LeaderAdministrative experience preferred General: Salary and benefits for this position will be in accordance with the District School Principals Association (DSPA) contract
