The Hunter-Tannersville Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Library Media Specialist to join our learning community for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a probationary appointment.Position OverviewThe Library Media Specialist plays a vital role in supporting teaching and learning by fostering literacy, inquiry, research skills, and digital fluency across grade levels. The successful candidate will view the library as an instructional hub and collaborate closely with faculty to support curriculum, student engagement, and lifelong learning.Required QualificationsNew York State Teaching Certification as a Library Media SpecialistCommitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and well-managed learning environmentStrong collaborative skills and a student-focused approach to instructionPreferred QualificationsPrior experience at the elementary and/or secondary levelExperience supporting information literacy, media literacy, and digital citizenshipFamiliarity with integrating library instruction into classroom projects and curriculumResponsibilities IncludeTeaching Library Media Standards; advancing digital literacy; and integrating STEAM concepts into collaborative, inquiry-based learning experiences.
