Position Overview The Hunter-Tannersville Central School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and collaborative Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will foster a positive learning environment while delivering engaging and rigorous mathematics instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, relationship-building, differentiated instruction, and supporting the social-emotional well-being of all students. Primary Responsibilities • Deliver effective mathematics instruction for students in grades 7–12 • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to NYS standards • Utilize data-driven instructional practices to improve student achievement • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs • Create a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and student engagement • Incorporate technology and instructional resources into classroom instruction • Monitor and assess student progress regularly • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school initiatives • Support district goals related to student achievement and school climate • Maintain accurate student records and grading practices Preferred Qualifications • Strong classroom management skills • Knowledge of New York State Mathematics Standards • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families • Experience with differentiated instruction and intervention strategies • Commitment to collaboration and continuous professional growth • Familiarity with social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices preferred Minimum Qualifications • Valid New York State Certification in Mathematics (Grades 7–12 preferred) • Bachelor’s Degree required • Master’s Degree preferred Compensation & Benefits • Salary commensurate with experience and contractual agreement • Comprehensive benefits package available • Participation in the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System Equal Opportunity Statement Hunter-Tannersville Central School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, military status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected classification under applicable law.
