Overview:Herricks is seeking a dynamic and engaging Social Studies Teacher for a 12-week leave replacement position. The ideal candidate will be a New York State certified educator with a passion for history and a commitment to student success. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.Responsibilities:Teach a variety of social studies courses, including World History, Global History, American History, and Psychology to high school students.Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and district curriculum.Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and critical thinking.Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all learners.Integrate technology effectively to enhance the learning experience.Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development activities.Qualifications:Valid New York State Social Studies 7-12 certification Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and assessment practicesProficiency in using technology to support teaching and learningExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
