Job Description:The successful candidate will join a highly motivated team in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse high achieving district in Nassau County. We seek an outstanding collaborator with experience working with students, parents and school staff to solve problems by communicating, counseling and providing referrals to other resourcesSPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:Assist students with coping with personal and psychological issues that affect their school performance, behavior and socialization. Facilitate one-on-one, classroom or school-wide sessions addressing issues relevant to the student population.Maintain case files and reports tracking student problems and progress.Participate with school/District Social Emotional Committee.Consult with parents, teachers, and other appropriate staff regarding the child’s program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance in the classroom or at home.Experience working with adolescents in groups and individually to reduce at risk behaviorsKnowledge of community based resources to support students and familiesFamiliarity with OASAS programsExperience with transition applications/services such as OPWDD and Front DoorLCSW (Medicaid Reimbursable) and eligible for or possessing School Social Work CertificationApply on OLAS
