Harborfields Central School District is seeking dedicated and student-centered Teaching Assistants for general education and special education positions throughout the district for the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities may include: Supporting students individually and in small groups Reinforcing instruction under the direction of a certified teacher Assisting with classroom activities, materials, and routines Supporting students with academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs Implementing accommodations, modifications, behavior plans, and IEP supports as directed Collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and other members of the instructional team Supervising students during classroom activities and other assigned duties Maintaining student confidentiality and a safe, inclusive learning environment Qualifications: Valid New York State Teaching Assistant certification at the appropriate level Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively as part of an instructional team Commitment to supporting the needs of all learners Experience working with school-aged children preferred Special education experience preferred for special education assignments Positions may be available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Assignments will be based on district needs, candidate qualifications, experience, and demonstrated strengths.
