Harborfields Central School District is seeking a dedicated, caring, and student-centered Anticipated Short-Term Leave Replacement ENL Teacher to join our team at Washington Drive Primary School at the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide English as a New Language instruction and support to elementary students in a warm, nurturing, and inclusive primary school environment. The ENL teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, families, and building administration to help English Language Learners develop academic language, access grade-level curriculum, and grow as confident learners. Qualifications: Candidates should possess: Valid New York State certification in English to Speakers of Other Languages, preferred Experience working with elementary-aged English Language Learners Knowledge of language acquisition, differentiated instruction, and culturally responsive practices Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Ability to support students academically, socially, and emotionally in a primary school setting Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Providing ENL instruction aligned with student needs and applicable learning standards Supporting English Language Learners in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills Collaborating with classroom teachers to support access to grade-level curriculum Using student data to inform instruction and monitor progress Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environment Communicating professionally and effectively with staff and families, as appropriate Application Procedure: Interested candidates should apply through OLAS with a cover letter and resume addressed to Mr. Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources.
