The Harborfields Central School District is seeking a qualified and student-centered Secondary Special Education Teacher for a tenure-track probationary appointment. Candidates must hold New York State Education Department certification in Special Education and be dual certified in a content area. Experience in a self-contained special education setting is strongly preferred.The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to high expectations for students with disabilities and the ability to provide rigorous, differentiated instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Providing specially designed instruction to students with disabilities in self-contained and/or integrated settings.Delivering content-area instruction aligned to certification and student needs.Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Using student performance data to inform instruction and support student growth.Collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.Maintaining a positive, structured learning environment that supports academic and social-emotional development.Ensuring compliance with all state and federal special education regulations and district procedures.Qualifications:New York State Education Department certification in Special Education required.Dual certification in a content area.Self-contained special education teaching experience preferred.Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.Application Process: Interested candidates must apply through OLAS with a cover letter and resume to: Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources.Applications are accepted exclusively through OLAS.The Harborfields Central School District is an equal opportunity employer.
