The Harborfields Central School District is seeking qualified Paraprofessionals for Thomas J. Lahey Elementary School. Paraprofessionals provide instructional and behavioral support to students, assist teachers in the delivery of educational programs, and contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.Duties and Responsibilities:Provide instructional support for individual students and small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher.Assist students with special needs in accordance with their IEPs and/or 504 plans.Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral development.Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions as assigned.Assist with classroom management and reinforcement of teacher-directed strategies.Prepare instructional materials and provide clerical support as needed.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and staff to promote student success.Qualifications:Minimum - High School Diploma is required.Prior experience working with children in a school setting desirable.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Position Details:10-month, school year positionPlacement may include general education and/or special education settingsInterested candidates should apply on OLAS and submit:Letter of interest (addressed to Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources)Resume
