The Harborfields Central School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible Permanent Substitute Teacher to serve at Washington Drive Primary School (K-2). This position offers an excellent opportunity for certified educators to gain valuable classroom experience while contributing to a positive and supportive school community.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Providing classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher.Implementing lesson plans as provided and ensuring continuity of instruction.Supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development.Collaborating with school administrators and faculty to maintain a safe and engaging learning environment.Assisting with supervisory duties as assigned (e.g., lunch/recess, arrival/dismissal).Qualifications:New York State Education Department Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) required.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to varying classroom settings.Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for young learners.Compensation & Schedule:Full-time school-year position; daily assignment at Washington Drive Primary School.Competitive per diem rate.Opportunity for professional growth and future consideration for regular teaching positions.Application Procedure: Interested candidates should submit an application via OLAS to Milton Josephs, Executive Director of Human Resources, including a resume, copy of certification, and two professional references.
