HOOSIC VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY School Bus Driver (3) The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious individual to join our Transportation Department as a full-time, 10-month School Bus Driver, effective September 1, 2026. Primary Responsibilities Safely transport students to and from school and school-sponsored activities. Perform pre-trip inspections and report any mechanical or operational concerns to the Transportation Supervisor. Promote and maintain safe, orderly student behavior while on the bus. Educate students on safe riding practices. Maintain the cleanliness and general appearance of assigned vehicles. Keep accurate records of mileage, routes, times, and incidents. Prepare and maintain route maps and pickup information. Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned, including operating other district vehicles when needed. Qualifications Applicants must: Meet all requirements for School Bus Drivers as established by the New York State Commissioner of Education. Possess a strong knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable traffic laws. Demonstrate the ability to safely operate a school bus in varying weather and road conditions. Communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions. Establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate authority. Be dependable, responsible, and safety-oriented. Have the physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Mechanical aptitude is preferred.
