The Hoosic Valley Central School District Board of Education is looking for a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Food Service Helper position. This role involves working approximately 5 hours per day for 10 months, starting immediately. The position may require working in both cafeterias, depending on the needs of the district.Duties may include:Clean tables in the cafeteria;Sweep kitchen area at the end of the day;Sanitizing the serving line and counters as needed and when closing at the end of the day;Cleans, washes, and otherwise prepares vegetables and fruit for meal times;Assists in the preparation of salads.Helps Cooks during serving time and in any phase of their duties or any other duties as assignedWashes dishes, pots, and pans by hand or machine;Sweep and mop the cafeteria during lunch times for the safety of the studentsMay act as a monitor in the cafeteria during meal timesMay act as a CashierQualifications:Working knowledge of proper methods of sanitation and cleaning procedures, food service, and the care of kitchen appliances;Ability to follow oral and written directions;Good physical condition;Experience in a school, restaurant, or hotel dining room is desirable.
