2026-2027 School Year Vacancy Internal candidates only Department of Bilingual Education & World Languages POSITION: STUDENT PLACEMENT AND COMPLIANCE MONITOR JOB SUMMARY: The Student Placement and Compliance Monitor ensure the accurate identification, language proficiency assessment, program placement, and academic monitoring of English Learners in strict alignment with state regulations and federal Title III mandates. This role involves heavy data management, cross-departmental coordination, and meticulous record-keeping to guarantee that all qualifying students receive appropriate language support services and that the district remains fully compliant during federal and state audits. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York state certification in TESOL or Bilingual Education KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate and oversee the initial screening and language proficiency assessment process for newly enrolling students with a Home Language Survey indicating a language other than English. Ensure timely testing and program placement within the federally mandated timeline from the student's initial enrollment date. Facilitate and document Language Proficiency Team committee meetings to determine appropriate instructional settings, accommodations, and program entries/exits. Maintain accurate, compliance data for all active and exited English Learners. Generate and distribute mandatory parent notification letters regarding program placement, continuing services, or program exit in the family's preferred language. Collaborate with the registrar and student information system (SIS) personnel to ensure accurate coding of EL students, immigrant students, and program services. Review student data regularly to identify and correct any compliance or data-entry errors before state reporting deadlines. Assist in compiling data and preparing comprehensive reports for annual CEEP, Title III evaluations and state compliance audits. Serve as a campus resource for administration, counselors, and teachers regarding Title III compliance guidelines and placement procedures. Schedule and facilitate monthly meetings with department liaisons to turnkey critical department updates, compliance mandates, accurate student rosters, and testing timelines; utilize these meetings to ensure that designated classroom and testing accommodations are consistently implemented and to coordinate direct support throughout the WIDA testing window. Serve as the WIDA Testing Coordinator for the district; provide hands-on training and logistical support to school administrators and proctors, oversee test security, and act as the primary liaison with the Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) for system management, materials, and troubleshooting.
