2025 – 2026 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYCivil Service Competitive PositionProvisional Appointment POSITION: Information Technology Developer (Permanent appointment contingent upon participating and attaining a reachable score in the next Civil Service exam for this title)RESPONSIBILITIES: Create conversion scripts and programs to assist in the transfer of data.Analyze system capabilities and requirements by storing, retrieving, and manipulating data.Assist in developing test conditions and scripts; produce customized reports to document test results.Troubleshoot application, reports and program errors to enable proper functioning.Provide technical support and assistance to employees in utilizing applications.May train subordinate Information Technology personnel in developing and applying enhancements to computer systems. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, with a major in a computer field, including two (2) courses in programming (6 credits) and six years of satisfactory, paid experience programming.Eight years of satisfactory, paid experience programming and eitherAssociate’s degree from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a major in a computer field including two (2) courses in programming (6 credits).Completion of two years (60 credits) of education at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university, including eighteen (18) credits in a computer field, including two (2) courses in programming (6 credits) NOTE: Satisfactory paid experience programming in excess of the minimum requirement for 1 and 2 may be substituted for college education on a year-for-year basis. Each year of additional experience acts as substitution for thirty (30) credits, including nine (9) credits in a computer field and three (3) credits in a course in programming.COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience CLOSING DATE: October 31, 2025Position subject to Civil Service Approval
