2025 - 2026 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYPOSITION: Interim Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Curriculum and Instruction Internal Candidates OnlyPOSITION OVERVIEW: The Interim Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of PreK–6 instructional programs. This leader ensures that curriculum, teaching practices, and assessments align with NYS Learning Standards and promote high levels of student achievement education.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the design, alignment, and implementation of high-quality elementary curriculum that meets or exceeds NYS standards.Analyze instructional data to improve teaching and learning outcomes across elementary schools.Guide the integration of research-based instructional practices, including differentiated instruction, literacy and numeracy initiatives, and culturally responsive pedagogy.Plan, implement, and evaluate professional learning opportunities for elementary staff, including teachers, instructional coaches, and principals.Build leadership capacity through ongoing support, coaching, and training in curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment literacy.Oversee the implementation of formative and summative assessments and use data to inform instructional planning.Monitor and report on student achievement and school performance; recommend strategies for improvement.Supervise curriculum coordinators, directors, instructional coaches, and other relevant staff.QUALIFICATIONS:NYS certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in school and/or district-level leadershipStrong knowledge of NYS Learning Standards, curriculum development, and assessment systemsStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
