2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCYPOSITION: Districtwide Elementary Math Staff DeveloperQUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State Teacher certification REQUIREMENTS: Must have a reference letter from the Building Principal LOCATION: TBD JOB GOALS: The goal is to provide instructional support in the mathematics program thereby assisting students in realizing their potential in math and ensuring their success. The Elementary Math Staff Developer will work closely with the building principal and classroom teachers to enhance the school’s mathematics program. They will train teachers to students in the remedial math program, advise classroom teachers as to placement of students within the appropriate math text, interpret analysis of local/State assessments, and suggest and suitable math instructional materials.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Direct instruction, primarily in the classroom, to remedial students individually and/or in small groups;Diagnostic testing and prescription for students;Conduct math in service workshops to provide instructional strategies to students.Support teachers in providing various math strategiesAssist with screening of students and confer with classroom teachers on student placement in the remedial math program;Conference and advise classroom teachers on students’ progress and follow up in the classroom during extended day and informal meetings;Monitor the developmental math program within the building;Meet regularly with the building principals to review and discuss the progress of the math program and remedial services;Provide classroom teachers with pertinent local and state test data on their students.Assisting teaches in the evaluation of diagnostic results and future instruction based on those results and evaluation of students’ progress as neededAssist the NWEA (MAP) testing and appropriate placement of studentsAssisting in the administration and interpretation of math progress, monitoring and diagnostic.
